Ah, making time to play in nature. Sounds great, but when will you actually make the time to do it and then actually do it? Some of you may have it ingrained in your routine and if you do, well done! Unfortunately, most people don’t. It’s not only due to fast-paced, technological culture we are living in, but also the burnout that occurs with the pressure and over-stimulation that comes with it. It’s no wonder why most people just want to lay on the couch and watch sports or binge watch shows on their days off.
What is this doing to our psyche? What is this doing to our physical and mental health individually and as a society? I’m not shaming people who may have fallen into this way of life. It has become a very common coping mechanism for this stressful world. A regular dose of Mother Nature is amazing medicine for the mind, body and soul. Carving out a day and time in your weekly schedule is a great way to start. Bring a friend or family member that can keep you accountable. Attend to your commitment like your life depends on it. Soon you will find yourself opening in ways you may have never imagined and you won’t want to live your life without it! Try new places and reset your brain.
Good luck and Namaste,
Erika🪷
